The Meteorological Department (IMD Raipur) has issued a warning of medium to heavy rain in all 33 districts across the state on 26 August (CG Weather Update Today).
Surguja division has been raining for three consecutive days. This time the monsoon has broken the 24 -year -old record in Ambikapur. The Banki reservoir has been filled with up to 10 years, while the Kanhar river of Balrampur district is in spate. As of 24 August, 100 percent rainfall target of the entire monsoon season in Ambikapur has been completed.
On Sunday, several areas of Bilaspur and Surguja division received moderate rainfall. Kapu in Raigad district received the highest 133 mm of rain. At the same time, 60.6 mm of rainfall was recorded in Karpavannad in Bastar district. In the last 24 hours, many villages were submerged due to heavy rains in Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Surguja and Bastar divisions.
According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will be cloudy in Raipur on Monday and light rain may occur with thunderstorms. Raipur recorded a maximum temperature of 29 degrees and a minimum temperature of 25 degrees. The fort was a maximum temperature of 31.6 degrees and the minimum was 20.4 degrees.
The cyclone of the air above the Bay of Bengal will develop a low pressure area for the next two days. Due to this, a large system of heavy rains can be active in the state. The monsoon line is going to the Bay of Bengal via Bikaner, Jaipur, Agra, Prayagraj, Daltonganj, Jamshedpur and Digha. The second trough is also passing through Haryana and Rajasthan through Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bengal. Due to these two systems, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rains for the next one week across the state.
