Hundreds of students have been hit by viral fever in the last one month at Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) in Nawa Raipur. Everyday 20-30 students are reaching various hospitals for treatment. About one thousand students are studying in this residential university.

The sick students are being taken to Balco-Vedanta Hospital and Sadbhavana Hospital in Nawa Raipur for treatment. However, instead of recruiting students many times, drip is left in the emergency ward itself, which does not improve their health status. Students say that they have informed the administration several times about poor water in hostels, but no concrete steps have been taken.

Ambulances are constantly busy

The university has four ambulances, which are constantly engaged in the students to reach the hospital. An employee of Balco-Vedanta Hospital said on the condition of anonymity that for the last few days the ambulances of the university have been bringing students especially at night. This is an indication that the process of deteriorating the health of the students has not stopped.

Students are falling ill again and again

Many students admitted to hospitals are falling ill again and again. A student at Vedanta Hospital has been admitted more than twice in the last one month. Similarly, many other students are constantly getting sick. Students say that this problem will remain until the water quality in the hostel does not improve.

Water is supplied from NRDA and its lab report is with all students, in which the quality of water is correct. There is a problem of viral fever and some faculty members are also ill. Health check-up of all the students will be done so that any problem can be avoided- Dr. Deepak Srivastava, Registrar, HNLU, Raipur.

Our hospital used to visit two-three patients every day of viral fever till a month ago. These days, up to five-seven patients are coming. Sick children are coming here continuously from La University, but none of them are required to recruit. So far no serious patient has come- Dr. Ankur Gupta, goodwill.
