In February 2024, Prashant Sharma, a resident of Jorapara, prepared a fake power of attorney in the name of the deceased. It showed the consent of nine people and Aadhaar card numbers, who had already abandoned the right of the land in favor of Pushpa Makhija, after which Prashant Sharma sold this land to Gajanand Meshram, a resident of Tatibandh on 22 February 2024.

Police say that along with the land mafia involved in this fraud, the role of some businessmen is also being investigated.
