Tomorrow 25 policemen will get medals on special service on Independence Day


On the occasion of Independence Day 2025 (Independence Day), the Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the names of 25 policemen of Chhattisgarh for Gallantry Medal (GM), President Medal for Discasing Service (PSM) and Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM). This honor outlines the state’s important role in strengthening Honoring Heroes and dealing with leftist extremism.

Gallantry Medal (GM)

The names of 14 policemen of Chhattisgarh have been declared for the Gallantry Medal for extraordinary courage and excellent operational capacity. These include IPS officer Sunil Sharma (Superintendent of Police), Sandeep Kumar Madile (Sub Inspector) and constables Madamkam Pandu, Madamkam Hadma, Madamkam Dev, Barse Hunga, Roshan Gupta and others. Three policemen-Late Ramuram Nag (Assistant Sub Inspector), Late Kunjam Joga (constable) and late Vanjam Bhima (constable)-have been awarded posthumously for supreme sacrifice during duty. These announcements reflect the risky campaigns and indomitable courage of the state police in Naxal -affected areas.

President Medal for Disposal Service (PSM)

The name of an officer of Chhattisgarh has been included in the PSM list for long -term outstanding service. Chhattisgarh director Himanshu Gupta has been honored for his leadership, professional honesty and continuous contribution to policing and public security in the state.

Medal for meritorious service (MSM)

10 policemen of Chhattisgarh have been selected for MSM for passion, exemplary service and continuous contribution. These include Inspector General of Police Dhruv Gupta, Superintendent of Police Prashant Kumar Thakur, Commandant Shweta Rajmani, Superintendent of Police Ravi Kumar Kurre, Inspector (MIN) Kaushalya Bhatt, Assistant Inspector General of Police Rohit Kumar Jha, Inspector (MIN) Kamlesh Kumar Mishra, Platoon Commander Dal Singh Namdev, Company Commander Dilip Kumar Sahu and Assistant Sub Inspector Sushil Kumar Barua. Their contribution has been in the areas of campaign operations, administrative efficiency and community policing.
