The recruitment process of five thousand teachers for school education has started in the state. At the same time, no process has been started for recruitment of vacant posts of assistant professors in higher education. Therefore, in this session also, the college will run on the basis of guest teachers.
In 2019, 1384 assistant professors were recruited during the previous Bhupesh Baghel government of the Congress. After this, in 2021, advertisements were taken out to fill 595 posts of professor in government colleges. Till now this recruitment process is going on in Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission.
At the same time, the proposal for recruitment of assistant professors is still stuck in the Finance Department. According to officials, the Finance Department had already sent a proposal to the Higher Education Department for the recruitment of Assistant Professors, but permission has not been received yet.
Such posts of assistant professor vacant
Explain that there are 5, 315 posts of Assistant Professor in government colleges. Of these, 3,146 posts are approved and 2,169 posts are vacant. Similarly, 335 posts of principal are approved, out of which more than half of the posts are in charge. Due to non -regular recruitment, every year the Higher Education Department has to seek the help of guest teachers.
Guest lecturers salary on the basis of period
According to the new guest lecturer policy, guest lecturers will get Rs 400 and assistant guest lecturers will get Rs 300 for teaching 40 to 45 minutes per period. If a guest lecturer teaches four periods a day, then he will get Rs 1600 per day. You will be able to take a maximum of 50 thousand rupees salary in a month. Similarly, assistant guest lecturers will also be able to earn Rs 35,000 per month. The salary of sports officer and Granthpal will be Rs 40,000.
School teachers were recruited in so many posts
Advertisements of 14,580 and 12,489 posts were released in 2019 and 2023 respectively during the School Education Department Congress government. Despite this, a large number of posts are still vacant due to retirement and promotion. According to the Directorate of Public Education, till 15 June 2025, there are a total of 2,00,180 sanctioned posts in the School Education Department, out of which 30,561 posts are vacant for direct recruitment.
According to official data, out of 81,721 sanctioned posts of Assistant Teacher, 18,983 posts are vacant. 1,599 out of 8,337 of Assistant Teacher (Laboratory), 4,384 out of 61,432 teachers, 150 out of 324 of agricultural teacher and 5,445 out of 48,316 posts of exercise teacher are vacant. Currently, single teacher system is going on in many schools, which is affecting the quality of teaching. Especially the shortage of teachers is being felt more in schools in rural and remote areas.
