U17 World Championship: Indian Wrestler Gold Medal Race

The young wrestlers of India have raised the head of the country proudly by performing strongly in the Under-17 World Wrestling Championships. Laki (110 kg Freestyle) performed brilliantly on Friday to make it to the finals of the tournament and now he is far away from becoming a world champion.

Lackie defeated wrestlers of Japan, Georgia and Iran

Laki started his campaign by defeating Hanteo Hayashi of Japan with technical superiority, after which he defeated Murtaj Bagdavadje of Georgia 8–0 to enter the quarter-finals. In the semi -finals, he encountered wrestling veteran from Amirhusain M. Nagdalipur in Iran, where Laki once again won by performing magnificent technical skills. Now in the final, Laki will compete with Magomeudrasul Omarov playing under the banner of UWW (United World Wrestling). This match can prove to be the biggest moment of his career.

Gaurav has a chance to win bronze medal

Another Indian wrestler Gaurav Poonia also made a great start. He introduced his strength by winning his first two matches on the basis of technical superiority without losing any points. But in the quarter -finals, he lost to Arseni Kikinio of America. However, due to the American wrestler reached the final, Gaurav Poonia has got a chance again in the Repeches Round. If they now win their two matches, then the bronze medal can be their name.

Shivam and Jayveer’s challenge ends

In the 48 kg category, Shivam of India also fought a good battle, but he lost 6-7 to Sabirjan Rakhatov in Kazakhstan in a very close match.
