Appenda’s regional office will open in Raipur, farmers will get direct benefit of global market: Vishnu Dev Sai

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai

Chhattisgarh has received a big gift towards promoting agricultural and processed food products. With the efforts of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and the active initiative of the Department of Industry, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India has approved the opening of APEDA i.e. Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority in Raipur.

With the commencement of this regional office, many benefits will be available to the farmers, producers and exporters of Chhattisgarh at the same place. Now they will not have to turn to the offices of other states for training, certification, packaging, standardization and export related services.

Global quality facility will be available at the local level

With the establishment of APEDA office in the state, now processes related to phyto-sanitary certificates, quality certification, lab testing, and exports can be completed here. This will not only save time but also reduce the cost of farmers and exporters.

Chhattisgarh products will get branding

Exports of fruits, vegetables, rice, GI tag products, millets and other agricultural products directly to the international market will be easier from APEDA office. This will give the products a fair price, the new market to the traders, and the state on the global platform.

Increase in both income and knowledge of farmers

Exports will give farmers a better price for their produce and will increase their income. Also, new techniques, quality control, modern packaging and international marketing will be found at the local level.

Benefits of special schemes and subsidy

The benefit of export promotion, skill development and subsidy schemes being run by APEDA will now be able to get the farmers, startups and MSMEs of Chhattisgarh easily. Expressing happiness on this historic initiative, Chief Minister Sai said that farmers and producers of Chhattisgarh have now got a strong medium to connect with the global market.

This office will not only encourage agricultural exports, but will also prove to be a decisive step towards the state’s economic prosperity. This achievement will make Chhattisgarh a leading state in the direction of Vocal for Local to Global and will open the doors of new opportunities in the area for export of rich agricultural products.
