Ujjain immersed in devotion to Baba Mahakal
Thousands of devotees gathered during the Bhasma Aarti on the third Monday of Sawan at the world famous Sri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Devotees reached the temple to visit Baba Mahakal despite the rain. The worship of Baba Mahakal started from 2:30 pm at Bhasma Aarti. During this, the temple complex echoed with the slogans of Jai Mahakal and Jai Bhole.
Pandit Ashish Sharma, priest of Mahakaleshwar temple, said that today thousands of devotees reached the temple to visit Baba Mahakal despite rain. During the Bhasma Aarti, Panchamrit bath was taken with Baba Mahakal milk, curd, ghee, sugar and honey. After this, Baba Mahakal was decorated in the form of Lord Shri Ganesha. Then Baba Mahakal was consumed by Mahanirvani Akhara.
Pandit Ashish Pujari said that due to the day of Chaturthi today, Baba Mahakal appeared to the devotees in the form of Shri Ganesh, due to which the entire temple complex became buzzing with the echo of Jai Shri Ganesha along with Jai Shri Mahakal.
Shravan starts in Gujarat and Maharashtra from today
Pandit Ashish Guru told that Shravan is believed to be the first Monday in Gujarat and Maharashtra. The almanac of Maharashtra is used in the worship method of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple. This is the reason that today thousands of devotees from Gujarat and Maharashtra have reached Ujjain to see Baba Mahakal and are taking advantage of Divya darshan of Baba Mahakal.
Baba Mahakal will visit 3 forms
In Shravan Bhado month, Baba Mahakal goes out on a city tour to give darshan to his devotees. Today, the third ride of Baba Mahakal will be taken out with pomp. The specialty of this ride will be that where the police band will be involved in the ride today, Baba Mahakal will give darshan to the devotees in the form of Chandramoleshwar in the palanquin, Manmahesh on the elephant and Shiva Tandava on Garuda. This ride will start from Mahakal temple at 4 pm and reach Ramghat via the traditional route, where after worshiping Lord Mahakal from the water of mother Shipra, the ride will reach the temple via various routes.
