It is being told that the driver lost control of the bus, due to which the bus fell into the ditch and overturned.
According to the information, this accident happened on Sunday morning. The bus going from Islamabad to Lahore fell into a ditch near Balaksar in Chakwal district of Punjab province. During this time there were 40 passengers in the bus. Out of which about 9 people died on the spot. It is being told that after a tire of the bus burst, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturned and fell into the ditch.
8 people died on the spot, one broke down in hospital
According to Dr. Saeed Akhtar, Chief Executive Officer of Chakwal District Health Authority (DHA), 8 passengers died on the spot in this accident, while one died in the hospital. Bus driver is also included in the dead. He said that all the injured in the accident have been admitted to the government hospital in Chakwal where they are undergoing treatment.
DC meets the injured
Chakwal Deputy Commissioner Sarah Hayat and Assistant Commissioner Zeeshan Sharif District Health Headquarters (DHQ) reached the hospital and met the injured and inquired about their situation. During this, DC Hayat directed the injured to provide all possible medical facilities.
4 children also included in the dead
As soon as the information of the incident was received, the rescue team reached the spot and took out the people who fell in the ditch. It is being told that four children were among those who died, including one eight months and one year old. Along with this, the dead include two sisters aged 14 and 2, while their mother is injured. The injured include a woman from the Philippines, who has been identified as Amy Dela Cruise and who was married in Lahore.
Rescue 1122 sent 6 rescue vehicles to the accident site, while a team of National Highway and Motorway Police, Chakwal Police and Frontier Works Organization also reached the spot. Some injured were taken to Kallar Kahar Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, while others and bodies were taken to Chakwal DHQ Hospital.
Four people condition critical, Rawalpindi referred
According to Dr. Mukhtar Sarwar Niazi, Medical Superintendent of DHQ Hospital, the condition of four of the 12 injured remains critical, who has been referred to Rawalpindi. Here Chakwal District Police Officer Ahmed Mohiuddin took cognizance of the incident and sent a team of senior police officers on the spot. A spokesman of the Chakwal police said that the spot has been sieged and the police is taking action according to the law.
