Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai on Wednesday reviewed the progress and implementation of the schemes of Women and Child Development Department at the Ministry Mahanadi Bhavan and gave important instructions to the officials. He said that the district -wise regular monitoring of the schemes focused on women and children should be done from the secretary level and it will be reviewed in a thorough review in the upcoming collector conference.
Chief Minister Sai took information about the infrastructure, budget and schemes run of the Women and Child Development Department in the meeting. He said that the department plays a very important role from the point of view of nutrition and safety of children, adolescent girls and women. He also said that the more sensitivity and efficiency of young children will be taken care of, the more effective and strengthened their physical and mental development will be.

The Chief Minister said that children are the foundation of the future of our country and to strengthen this foundation, everyone’s participation is necessary. He instructed the departmental staff to work with activeness and self -motivation at the ground level. He emphasized on ensuring that every child in the state should get proper benefits of supplementary nutritional food and departmental schemes.
He discussed detailed discussion on various points including nutritional food, hot food, its volume, quality and calorie standards to be distributed in Anganwadi centers and stated the need for continuous monitoring of the distribution process. The Chief Minister took information about the operation of 197 Anganwadi centers operated under the PM Janman Yojana and instructed to work with sensitivity and commitment for the all -round development of children of Special Backward Tribes (PVTG) community.
Mantri Matri Vandana Yojana mentioned
Chief Minister Sai, while reviewing the important indices related to the nutrition of children, said to make concerted efforts to bring the expected improvement. He said that it is possible to assess the actual situation through the indices, and wherever the deficiency is seen, quick corrective steps should be taken. Expressing happiness over the better performance in the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, he instructed that this progress should remain continuously. He said that small things and behavior have a profound effect on the mental development of children, so Anganwadi workers should make emotional connection with children with sensitivity.
Child marriage free Chhattisgarh campaign
The Chief Minister asked to ensure regular training for the departmental staff, so that they could do results oriented work with technically efficient and research approach. In the meeting, Bal Marriage Free Chhattisgarh Abhiyan, Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana, Sakhi One Stop Center, Shakti Sadan, Women and Child Helpline, Women Fund, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mission Vatsalya and other schemes were also reviewed.
On this occasion, Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Chief Minister’s Secretary P. Dayanand, Rahul Bhagat, Women and Child Development Department Secretary Shammi Abidi, Director PS. Department officials and employees including Elma were present.
