India and UK Trade Deal

The 5 round meeting for the trade deal between India and the US has been completed. But the final thing has not been made yet. Before the deadline of August 1, now the news is coming that the 6th round of meeting between the two countries will be held again in the month of August. The US delegation will come to India. This has made it clear that the deal of the deal before the deadline on August 1 is very low.

According to news agency PTI, a team of American trade officials will come to India in August for the next round of talks on the proposed bilateral trade agreement between the two countries. The report quoted an official as saying that for the next round of talks, the US party will come to India in the second week before August.

Not in the 5th round

The fifth round of talks were held between the two countries last week, in which the trade deal was not finalized. India and US officials completed the fifth round of trade talks in Washington. Rajesh Aggarwal, the chief negotiator of India and Special Secretary in the Department of Commerce and Brandon Lynch, assistant US trade representative for South and Central Asia, had discussed. In that round, issues related to agriculture and automobiles were discussed.

India’s demand

The government is demanding the removal of additional tariffs of 26 percent. Apart from this, 50 percent on steel and aluminum and 25 percent on auto sector are also trying to reduce tariffs. Some farmer organizations have requested the government not to include issues related to agriculture in the trade agreement. India is also demanding discounts in tariffs for labor-based sectors such as textiles, gems and jewelery, leather, fabrics, plastic, chemicals, shrimp, oilseeds, grapes and bananas in the proposed trade agreement.
