In Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh, the troubled youth tried to set fire to fire by spraying petrol on himself. This step was like his rebellion against administrative apathy. The disgruntled youth has been identified as Karan Sonwani, a resident of Gram Panchayat Doma, due to lack of accommodation.

In the implementation of government schemes, lethargy sometimes shatters the patience of common people. One such incident came to light in the Collectorate premises on Monday, which put everyone in a can. Angry youth Karan Sonwani tried to set fire to fire by spraying petrol himself due to lack of house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. This step was like his rebellion against administrative apathy.

The young man was dissatisfied with not getting accommodation

Till now the benefit of the housing scheme could not be found, due to which Karan made this suicide attempt. The disgruntled youth has been identified as Karan Sonwani, a resident of Gram Panchayat Doma, due to lack of accommodation. It was told that he was dissatisfied with not getting housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

In this regard, District Panchayat CEO Roma Srivastava clarified that Karan Sonwani’s name is recorded in the Housing Plus Survey 2.0 of PM Awas Yojana (Rural). His name is present in the survey ID, but he got confusion due to random checking by checker software. Officials clarified that he is eligible beneficiaries of the scheme and his name is recorded in the list.

Survey of more than 84 thousand beneficiaries

At present, a total of 84,439 beneficiaries have been surveyed in the district. Out of which verification work of 26,923 beneficiaries is in progress. This verification work will be completed by 31 July. After this, the process of providing housing of eligible families in Housing Plus 2.0 is under action, in that case the process of acceptance is completed, after approval, housing will be done in priority as per the housing target. After verification, the benefit of the scheme will be provided to the eligible beneficiaries soon.

Eligible beneficiaries will get priority

Collector Abinash Mishra said that all eligible beneficiaries will get the benefit of public welfare schemes on priority. Every complaint, problem is done with sensitivity. Public interest and transparency have also been started for the purpose of public interest and transparency, where citizens can directly apply their problems to the officers in the working day Monday to Friday.
