GST portal disturbances… The danger of tax hovering over traders, the system is not registering the answer

It has been eight years since the Goods and Services Tax, but the problems of its technical portal have still not ended.

GST portal disturbances

It has been eight years since the Goods and Services Tax (GST) came into force, but the problems of its technical portal are still not over. On the contrary, new types of troubles have made traders sleep. Traders and taxpayers are responding to the DRC-01 notice as per the procedure, but that reply is not being registered in the portal. In such a situation, the department can take unilateral action, due to which there is a danger of demanding improper tax.

Traders are hovering over tax demand demand

Under the GST, when the department issues a DRC-01 notice regarding reduced tax or irregularity, the taxpayer has to answer it online in the DRC-06 form. But the big problem is that even after replying, he is not being displayed in the records on the portal. This means that the taxpayer may have responded to all the documents, but the department does not see it.

Fear of arbitrary tax fixation

The MP Tax La Bar Association has submitted a memorandum to the SGST Commissioner, opening a front against this serious disorder. The president of the organization Ashwin Lakhotia says that if this problem is not resolved soon, many taxpayers can be issued unilateral tax orders without hearing. This will damage the image of traders and will face unnecessary legal battles.

No solution even after complaints

About 8 days ago, the tax advisors had filed a complaint in writing, but no solution has been found so far. It has been said by the department that all the traders should register their problems in the Grievance Cell of the GST portal. But till now there has been no improvement on the portal nor the traders have been relieved.

Department is avoiding responsibility

Local GST officials say that this technical disturbance comes under the jurisdiction of GST Council in Delhi. Therefore, the problem will be resolved from there. Currently, traders of MP are in a state of uncertainty and insecurity.
