CM Sai said- Sports increase courage, strength and determination among the youth


Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai attended the closing and prize distribution ceremony of Wako India National Kick Boxing Championship 2025 held at Sardar Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in the capital Raipur late this evening.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai welcomed and greeted about 1200 participants and 300 coaches from 28 states of the country and welcomed Lord Shri Ram’s Nanihal and Mata Kaushalya in Chhattisgarh, saying that it is the good fortune of the state that Wako India National Kick Boxing Federation chose Chhattisgarh for this prestigious event.

The Chief Minister informed the participants about the characteristics of the state of Chhattisgarh and told that it is a small, but very rich state located at the heart of the country, whose 44 percent of the land is covered with picturesque forests. There is a dense Abujhmad area spread over 5,000 square kilometers, where the sun’s rays do not reach. The state has panoramic waterfalls, beautiful caves, rich mineral wealth and cultural diversity. Chief Minister Sai said that according to the resolution of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Naxalism in Chhattisgarh is now in its final stages. He also invited players from all over the country to visit Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Sai said that sports like kick boxing develops courage, strength and determination in Sports for Youth. He said that “This event will definitely give Chhattisgarh a more powerful place on the National Sports Development.”

Giving gratitude to Kick Boxing Association of Chhattisgarh for this grand event, the Chief Minister said that sports are an integral part of life, which teach not only physical health, but also the lesson of discipline, confidence and dedication.

He urged the participants to continue to move towards their goals with hard work, dedication and passion. The Chief Minister said, “Jeet and defeat are part of life, but the real goal should be to recognize its ability and enhance it.”

Chief Minister Sai appreciated the Khelo India program conducted under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that all 33 districts of Chhattisgarh have been linked to this scheme, so that players from both urban and rural areas can get equal opportunities.

He said that the state government is paying special attention to the development, training and incentive schemes of infrastructure to promote sports. He also informed that the plan to give prize money from Rs 1 to 3 crore to players who won medals in international events like Olympics is a sign of the government’s commitment.

Referring to the Chhattisgarh Sports Incentive Scheme, the Chief Minister said that under this scheme, upgradation of sports grounds, arrangement of high level equipment, financial assistance to sports clubs and traditional sports have been ensured.

At the end of the program, the Chief Minister greeted all the participants for participation in competition and expressed hope that Chhattisgarh would play a leadership role in the field of sports in the country in the coming years.

Addressing the program, MP Brijmohan Agrawal said that sports like kick boxing are especially important for the self -defense of girls. He appealed to all school students to study sports as well as sports in his routine. He said that a healthy brain resides in a healthy body and under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, sports in the state are getting encouragement at all levels. He informed that sports academies and infrastructure are also being constructed rapidly in the state.

While addressing the program, Mayor Mrs. Meenal Choubey also encouraged all the players and wished them a bright future.

Santosh Aggarwal, President of Wako India National Kick Boxing Federation, Chhattisgarh Kick Boxing Association President Chhagan Mundra, Chhattisgarh State Minorities Commission Chairman Amarjeet Chhabra, Observer Mrs. Renu Parikh, Murali Sharma, local public representatives and sports were present on the occasion.

Punjab finished first in the competition with 22 gold, 18 silver and 26 bronze medals. Maharashtra second with 21 gold, 16 silver and 29 bronze medals and Tamil Nadu third with 12 gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze medals. In this championship, Chhattisgarh earned 8 gold, 13 silver and 37 bronze medals and earned a sixth position at the national level, which is a matter of pride for the state. Along with this, Assam Rifles was honored as the best disciplined team.
