In the name of getting a government job in the fort, there is a fraud of 1 crore 66 lakhs from a woman. The accused also gave a fake appointment letter to the woman during the code of conduct in the assembly elections, but did not get a job. On the complaint of the woman, the police have filed a case against the accused.

In the name of getting a government job, the case of cheating of crores of rupees has come to light by handing over fake appointment letters. Priya Deshmukh, a resident of Durg, who was a victim of cheating, has filed a complaint. In this case, Padmanabhpur police have registered a case under Section 420 against Rajat Gupta, resident of Surguja, his wife Amolakshmi and another person.

According to the police, the accused have cheated some more people in the fort in the name of getting a job. But such victims are not coming forward yet. At present, the police is trying to find out the accused. According to the police, the entire case of cheating is of a period from 31 December 2022 to 2025.

Padmanabhpur police station in -charge Rajkumar Lahre said that in the year 2022, the accused came in contact with Rajat. The accused told Priya that his wife works in the ministry. That government department can employ jobs. Priya came under the guise of the accused.

Appointment letter given during code of conduct

The first talked for appointment to the post of Naib Tehsildar. But later he was given an appointment letter for joining the post of Food Inspector in Narayanpur. The appointment letter was given in the year 2023 during the implementation of the code of conduct for the assembly elections. Later, the accused grabbed the amount, stating that the date of joining is over.

Fraud of 1 crore 66 lakhs

Priya first paid Rs 45 lakh to the accused. After this, he paid the amount in installment. The accused recovered a total of Rs 1 crore 66 lakh from Priya.

Police said that the accused has cheated four and a half crores from people in the name of getting jobs in Balodabazar, Bilaspur, Ambikapur area.
