Traveling on the streets of Morena district is now becoming very risky. Official figures of the traffic police confirm this threat. In the last six months (January 1 to 30 June 2025), 624 road accidents were recorded in Morena district, in which 177 people lost their lives and 644 were injured. These figures show that on an average, three road accidents occur every day in the district, in which one person dies and four people get injured.
June became the most dangerous month of accidents
The most accidents occurred in June 2025 itself. 116 accidents, 40 deaths and 156 people were injured. This was the same month when the police and the traffic department also launched awareness campaigns about road safety. Despite this, the speed of accidents did not stop.
Most accidents on National Highway
Two National Highways-NH-44 and NH-552 pass through Morena district, and most of the accidents are happening on these roads.
- NH-44 (Dholpur Road, Gwalior Road, Tekri, JK Tire Factory Area etc.)
- NH-552 (Neear Square, Bilgaon, Kailaras, cardboard factory gate)
Black spots have been identified in these areas for five years, but no concrete steps have been taken yet.
Black spots become deadly territory
Black spots are places where frequent accidents occur.
Security measures like red signals, speed breakers, warning boards or road markers have not yet been installed at these places. Result – Many precious lives are being made every month.
High speed bus fell in Chambal canal, big accident averted
A high speed bus near Singrauli village in Chinnouni police station area uncontrolled and fell into the Chambal canal. At the time of the accident, there were 10-12 people in the bus. Thankfully there was no life. But 3 people were injured in the accident. There was also no registration number on the number plate of the bus, which makes the rules clear.
