ITI centers will be upgraded
The Central Government has formed a National Steering Committee (NSC) to change the infrastructure of skill development. Under this scheme, 1000 government ITIs will be upgraded and 5 National Excellence Centers will be established. In this scheme of Rs 60,000 crore, the central government will contribute Rs 30,000 crore, state governments Rs 20,000 crore and industry Rs 10,000 crore (through CSR). NSC will emphasize the role of the industry in shaping syllabus, certificate and training standard.
The Center has formed a National Steering Committee (NSC) with various ministries and industry representatives to create a guidelines and a comprehensive policy structure to bring changes in the infrastructure of skill development in India. This involves establishing a five National Excellence Center for 1,000 ITIS upgradation and skill development.
The panel was formed by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship on 7 July. In this regard, Skill Development Minister Jayant Chaudhary said that we want to move forward through funding. We want the industry to shape the course, certification and training standard.
On behalf of the Union Ministry, in the month of May, upgradation of ITT of Rs 60 thousand crore was approved. In this, upgrading 1,000 government ITIS is to provide training to more than 20 lakh youth. Entrepreneurship Minister Jayant Chaudhary claimed that during this time there has been a big change in India’s skill eco system.
These people will participate
The National Steering Committee (NSC) will also issue rules (forms) for the establishment of 5 National Excellence Centers in the coming time. In this, special emphasis will be given to prepare the workforce. It will be chaired by Skill Secretary Rajit Punhani. It will also represent private companies like Bajaj Auto, ITC Limited, Hindustan Aeronautics and Hero MotoCorp along with the state representatives.
1 thousand government ITI will be upgraded
The government has decided that in the coming time, 1 thousand government ITIs will be upgraded under the hub and spoke model. For this, 60 thousand crore rupees have been allocated by the cabinet. In this, the cooperation of 30 thousand crores will be done by the Center, the remaining remains will be given under the state and CSR.
