Nimisha Priya’s difficulties increased in Yemen.
Indian nurse Niyamisha Priya, who hails from Kerala, may have been stopped at the hanging in Yemen, but a statement has increased her difficulty again. In fact, the family of the deceased Talal Abdo Mahdi has rejected all the efforts for compromise and forgiveness.
Meanwhile, Talal Mahdi’s brother Abdelfatah Mahdi made a passionate and strict statement that it is only for his family to accept Kisas i.e. revenge action.
“Blood cannot be forgiven”
After stopping the hanging, Talal Mahdi’s brother Abdelfatah wrote in a Facebook post that now that the hanging is postponed, it is sad for us, because we had already turned down all kinds of agreements and proposals of Diya. Those who are engaged in stopping these hanging, they know that we do not accept any reconciliation.
Family allegations: Increased pain due to lies
Abdelfatah Mahdi alleges that not only the truth was suppressed after the murder, but his family’s trouble was further enhanced by creating false stories. In a conversation with the BBC, he said that we are not only broken by that painful crime, but the long and tedious case after this was no less than a torture for us. This was a heinous and absolutely clear crime. In fact, Nimisha is accused that he killed Talal by giving them more quantity of unconsciousness and then cut the dead body.
However, he claimed in the court that Talal Mahdi exploited him physically and mentally, snatched the money, seized the passport and threatened him by showing a gun. But Abdelfatah has denied all these things outright and said that there is no truth in these allegations. My brother never threatened Nimisha or seized the passport. All this story was coined so that crime could be justified. He clearly says that “Whatever the story of exploitation has come out of Nimisha’s favor, he is nothing more than lies and rumors.”
What is the matter?
Nimisha Priya was sentenced to death by the Yemen’s court in 2020. In 2017, he killed his Yemeni business partner Talal Abdo Mahdi. It is claimed that Mahdi used to torture Nimisha and was preventing from returning to India. Meanwhile, Mahdi was killed, whose body was later found in pieces. On 16 July 2025, Nimisha’s execution was fixed, but on July 15, the Yemen administration postponed it. This is confirmed India’s chief Sunni religious leader Kanthapuram A. P. Abubakar Muslim also did it. He intervened in favor of Nimisha by talking to influential scholars of Yemen. After this, a government letter in Yemen was reported to stop the execution.
