CGMSC’s great carelessness, asthma and allergy medicine non -standard, immediate ban on use

A serious case related to the health of patients has come to light in the state. The negligence of Chhattisgarh Medical Service Corporation (CGMSC) has once again been exposed. This time the quality of a batch of Prednisolone Tablet (medicine code D-427) provided in the treatment of asthma, allergies, arthritis and intestines has been questioned.

The drug corporation has banned its use and distribution after the possible flaws are revealed. The Health Department has instructed all district hospitals, community health centers and primary health centers not to use and distribute this tablet until the next order is received.

According to the information received, the quality of Prednisolone Tablet Batch number T-240368 (Construction Date: 01 July 2024, End Date: 30 June 2026, Manufacturer: Sunlife Sciences) is considered suspicious. This tablet is used to treat inflammation, allergies, asthma, skin diseases, joint pain and other serious diseases.

What is the danger?

According to health department sources, it is suspected that this drug may be of non -standard quality. The investigation report is awaited, but primarily it is believed that there may be any technical or construction flaw in the drug.

It is worth noting that even before this, serious flaws have been found in medicines and materials purchased by CGMSC. Last week, there was a case of poor quality of surgical blades.

Clear instructions to hospitals

All government hospitals, CHC, PHC and urban health centers in Raipur and Balodabazar district have been instructed to keep it in a separate safe place if they have this medicine and do not distribute it to a patient. The officer concerned will be responsible for violation of orders.

Repeated negligence is being repeated

This is not the first case that drugs purchased by CGMSC are found to be non -standard. There have been many such incidents in the last one year, due to which serious questions are being raised on the functioning of government health services.

Experts say that steroid drugs such as prednisolone affect the body’s immune system. If it is of poor quality, its side effects can be fatal. Sending such medicines to hospitals without testing is like playing directly to the patients’ lives.
