Nimisha Priya, a resident of Palakkad in Kerala, may be hanged in Yemen on 16 July. Nurse by profession Nurse Nimisha is jailed for killing a Yemen citizen. Human rights activist Samuel Jerome was told that the jail authorities have informed Nimisha about the death date.

This case is no longer dependent on the process of the court. The final decision depends on the family and diplomatic strengths of the deceased in Yemen. Now there is very little time left. If there is no blood money agreement or high level intervention of the Indian government, then death sentence may apply on July 16. Apart from this, if there is an agreement in this week, the hanging can be averted.
