CM SAI started stopping ‘Gajrath Yatra’


On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the Chief Minister (CM) Vishnu Dev Sai (SAI) inaugurated the ‘Gajrath Yatra’ (Gajrath Yatra) in a program organized at the Ranjita Stadium campus in Jashpur today. This innovative initiative has been launched in Chhattisgarh with the aim of reducing the conflict and spreading public awareness for wildlife conservation.

Behavior with elephants and will tell security measures

Through this journey, the message of elephant behavior, security measures and co-existence will be conveyed to the people by reaching schools, gram panchayats and haat-markets. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that community participation and awareness is very important to reduce the increasing conflict between humans and elephants.

The ‘Gajrath Yatra’ will become a meaningful medium in this direction, which will help people to educate people and reduce human-livelihood struggle. He also honored those employees of the forest department who have done remarkable work in this field.

During the program, Chief Minister Mr. Sai gave a message of environmental protection by planting vermilion in the stadium campus. He appealed to the citizens in the campaign ‘Ek tree Mother’s Name’ campaign to plant more and more trees. He said that trees not only provide lifestyle oxygen, but are also essential for water conservation, biodiversity and climate balance.

Chief Minister Shri Sai also released a short film and booklet prepared by the Forest Department, which gives information related to elephants, understanding their behavior and safety measures. This material will be distributed to school children, villagers and local communities.

Environmental protection citizens are also responsible

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that environmental protection is not only the government, but the responsibility of every citizen. He gave information about various schemes and awareness campaigns run by the state government, which are helpful in sustainable development and construction of green Chhattisgarh.

It is violated that the ‘Gajrath Yatra’ is part of the state government’s widespread strategy that is devoted to ensure a safe environment for wildlife through sustainable development, biodiversity conservation and participation of local communities. At the end of the program, the Chief Minister greeted all the participants and the forest department team for this effort.
