Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar has alleged that no new leadership is emerging in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) due to Mahendra Singh Dhoni. According to Bangar, Ravindra Jadeja Dhoni and then Ruturaj Gaikwad could not develop as captain in Dhoni’s shadow. Bangar has said that due to Dhoni’s presence, natural leadership ability is not developed among other players because other players start mimicking Dhoni. He said that Ruturaj and Jadeja could not develop their thinking in Dhoni’s shadow. Both of them are unable to move forward due to imitation of Dhoni’s mindset.
This thing of Bangar is also very correct, whenever the CSK management has put forward the new leader in his team, he starts working on Dhoni. For this reason, CSK is failing from the last two seasons. CSK has never been below the ninth place before, but in IPL 2025 she was at the bottom.
