Pakistan government action on illegal foreigners, forced Afghans to leave their homes in a very short time

Islamabad
As part of the ongoing action on illegal foreigners of the Government of Pakistan, Afghans are now being forced to leave their homes in a very short time. Some were given only 45 minutes and some were given 6 hours and then strict orders for “leave Pakistan forever”. 42 -year -old Afghan Sher Khan, who used to work in a brick kiln in PoK, when he returned from work, the policeman was standing at the door. Sher Khan and his wife covered some clothes and utensils for nine children and everything else left behind. She said, “The honors and things we had for years remained there.”

Millions of Afghan refugees like Sher Khan, who were born or lived in Pakistan for decades, are now homeless. It is estimated that since October 2023, more than 10 lakh Afghan citizens have left Pakistan and millions are still living in fear of action. There is a first stay of refugees in the Tarkham camp on the Afghan border. Here every family is given a SIM card and 10,000 Afghani currency (about ₹ 12,000). According to camp director Molvi Hashim Mayvandwal, earlier 1,200 families were coming daily, now the number has come down to 150 but after Eid, the crowd is expected to increase again.

The local organization ‘Asceal’ is providing a food package to the cleanliness kit, food and the final destination. But his representative Najibulla Ghiyasi said: “The number is so high that we are not able to help all.” 50 -year -old Yar Mohammad, who had been living in PoK for 45 years and used to run the floor -shining business, was taken out by giving 6 hours. “The police came and said- Quit Pakistan. What he earned in so many years had to be filled in the tent. The machines are getting spoiled in the sun-rain.” Now Mohammad is living on rent in Kabul and trying to start work again.

Unhcr’s strict warning
According to the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), Pakistan and Iran together expelled about 5 lakh Afghans in April and May 2025. Human Rights Watch alleged that the Pakistan Police conducted raids in houses, beaten people, seized documents and allowed bribes to remain. Pakistan has alleged that terrorist attacks from across the border are being carried out through Afghans, although the Taliban has rejected these allegations. Pakistan claims that the expulsion is happening respectfully, but the ground situation does not confirm it. Refugees are trying to re -start their lives, but financial constraints, lack of resources and uncertain future are disturbing them. “Whatever is lost, Allah will give him a glimpse of Sher Khan’s expectations, but the reality is more bitter than that.
