Air India flight number AI171 flying from Ahmedabad to London became a victim of a fierce accident today. The aircraft flew from runway 23 of Ahmedabad Airport at 1:17 pm, but a few minutes after the takeoff, it crashed near the BJ Medical College Campus in Meghani Nagar area. This accident has shocked the entire country. After this accident, the IndiGo flight, which fly from Raipur Airport to Ahmedabad, has also been canceled till the next order.

Raipur Airport Director said that the flight from Raipur to Ahmedabad has been canceled. Indigo aircraft from Raipur used to fly from Ahmedabad. Which has been canceled till the upcoming order.

Accident occurred immediately after aircraft takeoff
According to eyewitnesses, the back of the aircraft collided with a tree as soon as he flew, causing its balance to deteriorate and fell into the residential area. Heavy black smoke was seen rising from the accident site, causing chaos in the entire area.

There were 242 people in the aircraft
A total of 242 people were aboard the aircraft, including 2 pilots, 10 cabin crew members and 230 passengers. According to sources, the aircraft was commanded by Captain Sumit Sabharwal, who had an 8200 -hour flight experience. Co-Pilot Clive Kundar had 1100 hours of experience. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was also riding in this flight.

Relief-rescue work continues
Police, fire brigade and medical teams reached the spot as soon as the incident was received. Many injured have been admitted to the nearest civil hospital. However, the dead have not been officially confirmed yet. Meghani Nagar and surrounding areas have been sealed for security reasons.

All flights canceled from Ahmedabad Airport
A spokesman for Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport said that all the flights operating from here have been suspended for the next information.
