Usually, the gateway in public toilets for men and women is the same. At the same time, women are reluctant to use these toilets due to having a common toilet or the urinal of men in the open. But now a unique initiative has been taken in the model panchayat Harrakheda, which comes to the district panchayat Berasia, due to which women are going to get rid of this problem. In this village, the first pink toilet (Xi-toilet) of the state is now being built.
Villagers had demanded a separate toilet
Talk that some time ago, in view of the problem of women in the village, the villagers had demanded the gram panchayat to make a separate toilet for them. After this, the Gram Panchayat made a proposal and sent it to the District Panchayat. After getting the approved, work has started now. Panchayat Secretary Deendayal Dangi says, “Within two months, women of Harrakheda Gram Panchayat will start getting pink toilet (shee-toilet).”
Xi toilet is being built near the weekly market
Panchayat Secretary Deendayal Dangi said, “Harrakheda is the entire village of the entire village. There is a market every week, there is a lack of women in the panchayat building. Due to this, there was a shortage of women toilets, due to which it has decided to build a pink toilet near Panchayat Bhawan and Weekly Haat.
Only women will operate pink toilet
The pink toilet will only be for the use of women and other facilities including cleanliness will be taken care of. It will also be operated by women. The Panchayat Secretary said that earlier there was a lack of toilets in the village, 105 families have been selected for construction of toilets under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. So far, 380 individual toilets have been constructed in the village. Apart from the incentive amount, the villagers have also constructed strong toilets by investing their money.
Gram Panchayat with Xi-toilet will be set for the entire state
ग्राम पंचायत हर्राखेड़ा के सरपंच माचल सिंह ने बताया, ” ग्राम पंचायत में निरंतर विकास कार्य किए जा रहे हैं। शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, समाज व स्वच्छता को प्राथमिकता दी जा रही है। गावं में महिलाओं के लिए अलग से पिंक टॉयलेट की मांग की गई थी। इसलिए अब पिंक शौचालय बनाया जा रहा है। हर्राखेड़ा मध्यप्रदेश की पहली ग्राम पंचायत होगी, जहां महिलाओं के लिए अलग से शी-टॉयलेट की सुविधा मिलेगी।”
