According to the information given by the Railways, Tatkal ticket will be booked only after authentication from Aadhaar from July 15. Railway agents will be able to book tickets after half an hour. Railway circular
The Railway Ministry issued a circular on 10 June 2025. This circular states that from July 2025, only those users will be able to book Tatkal tickets, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website/its app, who have done verification through Aadhaar. Subsequently, Aadhaar-based OTP certification will also be made mandatory for immediate booking from 15 July 2025.
The circular states- Tatkal tickets will be available for booking through computerized PRS (passenger reservation system) counters/authorized agents of Indian Railways only when verification of the generated OTP by the system will be done. This will be sent to the mobile number given by users at the time of OTP booking.
How long does the immediate window open?
The window is open from 10 am for immediate railway ticket booking. However, only AC coach tickets are booked during this period. At the same time, ticket booking is done for sleeper coach from 11 am on the immediate window. During this time, the general public gets extremely difficult tickets.
Railway Minister gave signs of change
Let me tell you that on June 4, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said through social media post that Indian Railways (Indian Railway) will soon start using e-Aadhaar authentication to book Tatkal tickets. He wrote in his post, stating its advantages, that through this system, real users of Railways will help in getting confirmed tickets at the time of need. It is expected that this system can be started by the end of this month. Now the Railway Ministry has announced this and this process will be implemented from July 1.

Only 10% Users Base Verified,

Now according to the new circular of the railway, agents will be banned from 10 am to 10.30 am for AC category and from 11 am to 11.30 am from booking ‘Tatki’ tickets for sleeper category. This will give common people a chance to easily book Tatkal tickets.
