Washington
The world’s richest businessman Elon Musk on Wednesday regretted some of his social media posts against US President Donald Trump and said that his post “The matter went a lot”. Alin Musk wrote, “I am sorry for some of my posts written about President Donald Trump last week. The matter went ahead.”
What was the reason for the controversy?
The dispute between Elon Musk and Trump deepened when Musk resigned as Chief of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). After this, Musk criticized Trump’s expenses and tax -cut bills which Trump is saying ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’. On this, Trump replied to Musk, saying that he had told Elon about the bill, especially the matter of cutting electric vehicle (EV) subsidy, but Elon Musk hit back on the social media platform x and said that this bill was never shown to him.
Not only this, Musk had posted a post supporting Trump’s impression (impeachment) on X, although it was later deleted. The matter had increased so much that Elon also mentioned the old relationship with Trump’s Jeffrey Epstein, which Trump described as an old and false issue.
Threat to end government contracts and subsidies
When the controversy with Elon Musk increased, Trump openly threatened that he could consider ending government contracts and subsidies with Musk’s companies, especially Spacex. Trump said that I think Elon is feeling very sad and disappointed. In a telephonic interview to NBC News, Trump even said that I think our relationship is over.
‘Do not fund Democrats Musk’
Trump also threatened Musk that if Elon Musk funds the Democratic candidates, especially those candidates who are opposing the Tax Bill of the Republican Party, it will have serious consequences. However, Trump did not clarify what those results would be.
What is the problem with Musk to Trump?
It is proposed to abolish the tax exemption received on the purchase of electric vehicle in the cost of the Donald Trump government and the tax deducted bill. The previous Biden government of America used to give a tax exemption of $ 7500 on purchasing a new EV. Trump is going to end it. There is a provision in this bill that companies which have sold two lakh EVs between 2009 and 2025 will not get exemption. This is directly a blow to the Tesla of Elon Musk.
Another reason is that Elon Musk wanted to appoint his reliable Jred Isaqman as an administrator in the American Space Agency NASA, but Trump ignored his recommendation. Musk believed that if Isaacmen become administrators in NASA, then his company Spacex will also benefit from it.
