The budget is going to be presented in Pakistan today. There is a discussion that the government of Pakistan can increase its defense budget by 18 percent. This decision is being taken on his behalf, while the condition of the country is thin from the debt burden. Pakistan’s defense budget can be Rs 2,500 billion rupees. This increase is worrying for the people of Pakistan, where large population is going through a shortage of basic facilities. There the expenditure on the country’s army can increase by 18 %. This will further increase the strength of the army in the country. Pakistan’s economic health has been a matter of concern.
According to the economic review presented in Pakistan on Monday, the debt burden on the country has increased rapidly to Rs 76,007 billion. This figure has doubled in the last 4 years. 5 years ago, Pakistan’s total debt was Rs 39,860 billion. A decade ago it was Rs 17,380 billion rupees. In this way, the debt burden on Pakistan has increased by 5 times in the last decade. The debt burden on Pakistan is external as well as domestic. Domestic debt on Pakistan is a total of Rs 51,518 billion, in addition to the external debt of Rs 24,489 billion.
The economic survey has made it clear that the rapidly increasing burden of debt can increase the economic crisis in the country. The burden of debt interest on the country may also increase. Apart from this, the economic stability of the country will also be threatened. It has been clarified in the survey that if such a situation prevails, then Pakistan can go into a long time in the period of economic instability. This will affect social welfare schemes to infrastructure.
Nevertheless, it is clear from the increase in spending on the army that Pakistan’s priority is more on warfare than the welfare and development of the public. Let us know that about 45 percent of the people in Pakistan are below the poverty line. According to the World Bank, there has been an increase in the number of people passing below the poverty line in Pakistan instead of decreasing.
