A big decision on Tatkal ticket booking, Aadhaar number will be needed

New Delhi

The Indian Railways Ministry has made a big change in booking Tatkal tickets. Now while booking Tatkal tickets, the user will have to do his verification. Without this, Tatkal tickets will not be booked. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given this information while posting on X. Now passengers will be required to do e-Aadhaar authentication by booking Tatkal tickets. Let’s understand this change in details.

What is e-aadhaar authentication?
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav recently told that E-Aadhaar Authority will be necessary while booking a TATKAL ticket soon. This will be a kind of verification, which will be done through the Aadhaar card of the person booking the ticket. It is being brought by brokers to prevent illegal ticket booking. Please tell that often while booking Tatkal tickets, Tatkal tickets were sold from IRCTC website in a few minutes. This was caused by brokers to book tickets illegally. Now the government has tightened up on this.

What will be the way
After this new method is implemented, every passenger will have to verify his identity digitally. Aadhaar card will have to be used for this. After which the user will get an OTP and without this OTP ticket will not be booked. With this, incidents of buying tickets through fake booking and bot will be stopped. The special thing about this new system will be that for the first 10 minutes only those passengers will be able to book Tatkal tickets whose IRCTC account will be linked to Aadhaar. The IRCTC agent will not be allowed to book during these 10 minutes. This step of the government will give great relief to the common man.

How to link Aadhaar with IRCTC
After this change, you have to take care of some things while booking the onlight Tatkal ticket from IRCTC. First of all, link your IRCTC account with your Aadhaar card. For this:

Go to IRCTC website www.irctc.co.in
Log in by adding your username and password
Go to ‘My Account’ and click on top right
Select ‘Link Your Aadhaar’ option
Fill your Aadhaar number and name as in Aadhaar card.
OTP will come on mobile related to your Aadhaar. Verify it
Click on ‘Update’ button, verification will be completed
After this confirmation will come on the screen and your account will be linked.

Keep these Aadhaar services on
Apart from this, keep the main mobile number link with your Aadhaar card so that you can easily get OTP from IRCTC. If your phone number is not link with Aadhaar card, then you will have to go to Aadhaar center and update your number. You can get this work done without spending a single rupee till 14 June.
