On the one hand there is a country that shelters terrorism and on the other side there is no comparison between the two: Tharoor

Washington
Former US President Donald Trump recently claimed that he played a big role in ending tension between India and Pakistan. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has given a strong reply to this. Tharoor clearly said that the situation of both countries is completely different and there is no scope for arbitration between them.

Terrorists and victims cannot be compared
Tharoor said, “Mediation is a word that we are not ready to believe. When you use words like ‘intermediary’ or ‘broker’, you assume that both sides are the same, whereas it is not.” He further said, “On one side there is a country that shelters terrorism and India is on the other hand – a strong democracy that wants to live peacefully. There is no comparison between the two.”

Tharoor also said, “India follows international rules in its own way, while Pakistan wants to change the 75 -year -old borders and political system. It is absolutely wrong to talk about mediation between two such different countries.” Let us know that Shashi Tharoor is currently on a visit to America and he is leading an all -party delegation of Indian MPs regarding ‘Operation Sindoor’. He made this statement in response to a question in the US Council on Foreign Relations.

Trump’s claims – I stopped war
Trump has claimed several times that he played an important role in stopping the war between India and Pakistan. He said that on May 10, there was a ceasefire between India and Pakistan and America’s arbitration played a big role in it. Trump claims that he said to both countries, “If you keep fighting and show nuclear weapons, America will not do business with you.” Trump reiterated the same thing in a conversation with the German Chancellor Frederick Merge and said, “I stopped that war. Will I get the credit for this? Will not get it. But the truth is that no one else could do it.”

India’s reply – negotiation between DGMOS reached an agreement
The Government of India has said that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan was decided by direct negotiations between the Director General of Military Operations (DGMOS) of the armies of the two countries. Earlier, 26 tourists died in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April. In response to this, India had carried out drone and missile attacks on terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on 7 May under ‘Operation Sindoor’. After this four -day action, the ceasefire was agreed on May 10.

Tharoor appreciated American efforts, but stated the role limited
When Tharoor was asked how he watched the role of America, he said, “Some calls came to our government from America. We appreciate their concern and negotiation initiative. But I guess that America would have talked more to Pakistan and probably had an impact there.” He also said, “We believe that Pakistan was most needed to explain. But it is my personal estimate, I do not know what they talked there.”
