Government employees will increase DA once again in July

This year, the dearness allowance (DA) of government employees is to increase once again. This increase in the DA of government employees will be with the effect of July 1, which is discussed between two to three percent. However, it is believed that this increase in DA will be final increase under the Seventh Pay Commission, as the recommendations of the Eighth Pay Commission are effective from the beginning of next year.

Government employees are currently getting the benefit of the seventh pay commission and like the central personnel, they are also looking forward to the Eighth Pay Commission. On January 16, the Central Government has approved the Eighth Pay Commission, but the commission has not been formed yet. However, its recommendations are to be effective from January 1 next year. Once the new pay scale is effective at the central level, the states will also be urged to adopt it. The state will decide according to its financial situation and budget.

Bihar has often followed the Center under the financial system and fiscal discipline. In such a situation, the government servants are almost sure to get the benefit of the Eighth Pay Commission. From April 01, 2017, the government servants of Bihar are getting the benefit of the Seventh Pay Commission with little Qatar-Bayot.

The last time DA had increased by two percent. Due to this, the rate of DA increased to 55 percent from January 2025. The three percent increase was then predicted, but the data of the All India Consumer Price Index (Industrial Workers) did not allow it.

On the basis of this, DA increases. There is no change in this scenario yet. Therefore, the rate of increase in DA is expected to be around the last time.
