5 Naxalites have been killed in an encounter with security forces in the forest of Karegutta in Bijapur district on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. Security forces launched the biggest anti -Naxal campaign 3 days ago. The search operation and encounter continue. Police officials have given this information. Thousands of soldiers from Telangana, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh are on operation.
Search operations continue in the area
This campaign against Naxalites includes several security units, which aims to eliminate the presence of Naxalites in the border forest areas and the infrastructure. According to the information, the Naxalites have been surrounded all around.
10,000 security personnel involved in operation
Police said that this campaign is one of the biggest anti-terrorism actions initiated in Bastar region, including District Reserve Guard (DRG), Bastar Fighters, Special Task Force (STF), all units of the state police as well as Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and its Special Commando Battalion for Around 10,000 security personnel including various units.
The campaign started three days ago
Police said the campaign was launched on Monday based on the information received about the presence of senior cadres of the Maoists’s strongest military organization Battalion No.1 and Maoists Telangana State Committee and it will last for several days.
The police further said that this area, surrounded by dense forests and hills, is considered to be the base of the Battalion No.1 of Maoists. According to the information, more than 5 thousand soldiers have been surrounded by Naxalites in Bijapur.
Big encounter in Bijapur, 40 lakh prize Naxalite Sudhakar killed
In Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, security forces have achieved a big success. DRG and STF launched a joint operation against Naxalites in the National Park area. During this, there was a tremendous encounter between the soldiers and the Naxalites.
Sudhakar, a member of the Central Committee of the Naxalite organization, was killed in the encounter. The government had declared a reward of Rs 40 lakh on Sudhakar. The encounter took place in the dense forests of Bijapur, where Naxalite activities were going on for a long time.

Bijapur Superintendent of Police Dr. Jitendra Yadav has confirmed the encounter. However, no official statement has been made so far about Sudhakar’s death. The soldiers are still running a search operation in the area.
It is being told that the number of killed Naxalites may increase because after the encounter, search is being done continuously in the area. A large quantity of weapons and other items have also been recovered during the encounter.

Sudhakar played an important role in the Naxalite organization and was considered the mastermind of many major attacks. His death is being seen as a major success of security forces.
