Students staged a strong protest in front of the administrative building of the university to protest against the incident of abuse from students at Kushabhau Thackeray Journalism and Mass Communication University (KTU). It is alleged that dirty abuses were given at night with the names of girls hostel girls from Boys Hostel.
After the incident, the students complained to security personnel, hostel incharge, registrar and vice -chancellor, but no one heard them. After two days of the incident, Registrar Sunil Kumar assured the students to take action. Despite this, the students have warned that if there is no early action, they will make a fierce agitation again.
During the protest, five -point demands were agreed and the administration assured action.
These are the demands of the girl students:
- Strict action should be taken against boys abusing and abusing them.
- CCTV cameras should be installed in the hostel premises.
- Girls Hostels and Boys Hostels should not be face to face, one should be removed.
- Two guards should be deployed in the hostel.
- The person responsible for hearing should be deployed in the campus.
