Ather Energy has created a new record in the electric two-wheeler segment. The company’s new scooter Ather Rizta has crossed sales of 1 lakh units in just one year. This figure suggests that this scooter is now becoming the first choice of every family.
Ather Rizta has achieved a new place in the fast growing electric two-wheeler market in India. With the sale of 1 lakh units within a year, this scooter has become the top seller of the company. Low budget, more convenience and spectacular performance have made it popular in the family segment.

1. 1 lakh units sold in a year
India’s electric scooter manufacturer Ather Energy has set a new record with its new model Ather Rizta. The scooter was launched on 6 April 2024 and its delivery started from July 2024. Its 99,691 units were sold in just 10 months and in the beginning of May 2025 it crossed the figure of 1 lakh units with sale of 309 units.
2. Company’s bestseling scooter
Ather Rizta has now become the company’s best -selling scooter. Earlier models such as the Ather 450X and 450s were popular, but the demand for Rizta overtook everyone. According to sales data, 58% of the total sales of Ather was stake in FY 2025.

3. New identity of family scooter
Ather Rizta is specially designed for families. It has features like large seat, strong footboard and comfortable riding position, which makes it different from the rest of the models. While 450X and 450s were performance-oriented, Rizta’s focus was on comfort and utility.

RIZTA collided with family EV scooters like TVS Iqube, Bajaj Chetak and Hero Vida. But Rizta proved to be the most different in the market due to low price, magnificent range and user-friendly design. Its smart connected dashboard and battery performance were also well liked by users.
5. Ather’s strategy succeeded
Ather changed its strategy over time and targeted the Family Centric segment, moving away from the performance. Rizta’s success is a proof of this change. This shows that now EV in India wants to adopt not just youth, but the whole family. Ather recognized this need in time.
