Rajiv Shukla will again become Vice President of BCCI

New Delhi

Rajiv Shukla, a six -year vice -president and veteran Congress leader, who has been an IPL chairman for many years, will again become the vice -president of the Indian Cricket Association (BCCI). Former Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) former secretary Shukla went to the board headquarters in Mumbai on Thursday and filed his nomination. Apart from him, no one has enrolled this post, it has been decided to be elected as his vice -president. It will be officially announced in the annual General Assembly (AGM) of BCCI to be held in Ahmedabad on 24th.

The vice -president’s chair was vacant since the resignation of Uttarakhand Cricket Association Secretary Mahim Verma. Apart from this, Brajesh Patel and Majumdar filled the form for members of IPL Governing Council. Only two people have filled the form for two posts, so there will be no election in it. Both of them are currently members of the IPL Governing Council. With this, it was also decided that Patel will also remain the chairman of the IPL Governing Council.

It is known that Sourav Ganguly was elected president, Jai Shah Secretary, Jayesh George Joint Secretary, Mahim Verma Vice President and Arun Singh Dhumal Treasurer in last year’s election. Earlier this year, Mahim resigned from the post and since then the post was vacant. According to the Supreme Court’s decision on the recommendations of the Lodha Committee, one member cannot hold two posts. Mahim left the post of BCCI Vice President to become Secretary of Uttarakhand Cricket Association.

Shukla represents Uttar Pradesh in BCCI. His becoming vice -president will increase the activities of cricket in Uttar Pradesh and BCCI will also get the benefit of his experience. Rajiv would have become the vice president last year but then the election officer had implicated technical screws on his candidature, after which Mahim was made the vice -president at the behest of Rajiv Shukla.
