Peetadhishwar Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham has strongly objected to the sacrifice of the goat during the goat Eid. He said in clear terms that organism violence is definitely condemnable in any sect, culture or religion.
Pandit Shastri, expressing his opinion against the sacrifice, said, ‘We are not in any way, in favor of the sacrifice. Thus we are not even in favor of Bakrid. If we cannot make anyone alive, no one has the right to kill.
He admitted that there has been sacrifice in Sanatan Dharma, but he talked about accepting both sides. However, he insisted that the time has changed and now treatment and other measures are available.
He said, ‘We are all civilized and well educated, so we feel that organisms should stop violence. Ahimsa should follow the synonym of God religion.
Pandit Shastri further said that by stopping the living violence, all religions will get health and everyone has the right to live – it will get a pledge and inspiration. He insisted that it is right for humanity to walk on the path of peace and non -violence instead of violence.
