Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will be on a tour of Umaria district on June 4. This visit of the Chief Minister will be held on the occasion of the conference of representatives of Gram Panchayats and Gram Sabhas to be held in the tribal dominated area Pali development block of the district. This event is being considered an important initiative towards strengthening the tribal welfare policies of the state government.
The conference targets the participation of more than 30,000 professionals representatives. Representatives of Gram Panchayats and Gram Sabhas, not only Umaria, but also the profession of Shahdol, Anuppur, Dindori and Mandla districts have been invited. The event is being organized under the Panchayati Raj system with the aim of implementing the PESA Act and strengthening the village self -government.
Detailed instructions have been issued by Panchayati Raj Directorate, Madhya Pradesh regarding this event. Clear guidelines have been sent to the district administration to ensure preparations for the event. Collector of Umaria district and CEO of Zilla Panchayat have been instructed to complete all the arrangements related to the conference within the time limit.
In this regard, Kunwar Kanhai, CEO of Janpad Panchayat Pali informed that initial inspection has been done regarding the venue. He said that the final selection of the venue has not been done yet, but one of the sparrows and Maliaguda panchayats has been identified as a possible site. Both the places have been inspected and a final announcement of the site will be made soon. Preparations have intensified at the administrative level for organizing the conference. Different departments have been entrusted with responsibilities regarding security arrangements, traffic management, forum construction, drinking water, health facilities etc.
