A case of disappearance of three Indian citizens has come to light in Iran. These three people are being told of Punjab. They have been identified as Hushnpreet Singh (Sangrur), Jaspal Singh (SBS Nagar) and Amritpal Singh (Hoshiarpur). The family claims that the three reached Iran on 1 May and have been missing since the same day. Families have also alleged that they have been demanded for a ransom of Rs 1 crore. The Indian Embassy issued a statement on X on Wednesday stating that the matter has been strongly raised before the Iranian officials and demanded to find the missing Indians as soon as possible and to ensure their safety.
The embassy said, “The families of three Indian citizens have informed the Embassy of India that their relatives have gone missing after reaching Iran. We have taken the matter seriously with Iranian officials and requested them to immediately find the missing Indians and ensure their safety.” Along with this, the embassy also told that he is constantly informing the family about the efforts being made in this matter.
According to media reports, the three youths went to Iran from Punjab. Family members claim that they were promised to send him to Australia by an agent. Under this, he reached Tehran on 1 May. But the same day he mysteriously went missing. The families have alleged that the youths have been abducted and they have been demanded by unknown people. However, these claims could not be independently confirmed. After the activism of the Indian Embassy, the eyes are now on the investigation of Iranian officials.
