Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam today flagged off 28 districts of the state in a brief program organized at Chhattisgarh Seed and Agricultural Development Corporation Complex, Telibandha Raipur and flagged off them. These new vehicles will be used by departmental officers to ensure effective implementation of departmental schemes in the field as well as monitoring farmer friendly programs. Director Agriculture Rahul Dev and other departmental officers were present on the occasion.
Minister Netam said that many schemes and programs are being conducted by the Government of Chhattisgarh in the interest of farmers. In order to get the benefit of this to the farmers, the farmers will be specially done to make them aware of the departmental schemes and to make them aware of it. Through this vehicle in Kisan Awareness Camps, a team of expert officers will reach village and inform the farmers about advanced technology and modern farming. Departmental functioning will accelerate due to the ensure of the availability of vehicles to the districts.
Minister Netam, while discussing with the media representatives present on the occasion, said that extensive preparations are being made by the Agriculture Department for the Kharif season 2025. With adequate storage of fertilizer and seeds for kharif, it is also being distributed rapidly to the farmers. Minister Netam said that the target of chemical fertilizers for Kharif season 2025 is 14 lakh 62 thousand metric tons, against which 8 lakh 48 thousand 604 metric tonnes of chemical fertilizers stored and one lakh 68 thousand 255 metric tons have been distributed to farmers so far, which is 20 percent of storage. He said that to ensure the availability of various types of fertilizers from fertilizer companies, the department is being constantly contacted and coordinated by the department, so that the rack of fertilizers as per the demand of the state can be available according to the prescribed sedul.
Minister Netam said that the state is currently available in the state, including double lock, cooperative societies and private sector, currently 3 lakh 90 thousand 840 metric tonnes of urea, 86,046 metric tonnes DAP, 1,14,539 MT, NPK, 67,640 metric tonnes and 1,89,539 metric tons are available. Compost is being distributed continuously through committees and private sectors to farmers. So far, 84,661 metric tonnes of urea, 27,045 metric tonnes of DAP, 18,809 metric tonne NPK, 10,359 metric tonnes of potash and 27,381 metric tonnes have been distributed to farmers. Currently, 6,80,350 metric tons of chemical fertilizer is available for the distribution of farmers in the state.
Minister Netam said that keeping in mind the demand of 4 lakh 95 thousand 57 quintal seeds for various crops of Kharif season, the availability of 4 lakh 29 thousand 535 quintals of seeds has been ensured by the department. More than 2 lakh 31 thousand quintals of seeds have been stored in the committees. So far 47 thousand 881 quintal seeds have been distributed to farmers through committees. The state of storage and lifting of manure and seeds in the state is constantly being monitored.
