The Collector has taken a big step towards improving air pollution in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh. Collector Ruchika Chauhan has issued a directive to the Transport Department regarding old vehicles. According to this, now private vehicles more than 20 years old and government vehicles more than 15 years old will not be seen running on the roads of the district. If such a vehicle is found, then the Transport Department will seize them. From where they will be sent to the scrap center of the Transport Department.
Collector sought list in three days
Collector Ruchika Chauhan has instructed the officials of the Transport Department to present the list of such vehicles in three days. Along with this, the provision of the government should also be presented, so that effective action can be taken according to the provisions. The Collector said that the running of vehicles will be banned on the basis of the list received.
Now old vehicles do not run on the streets
The Collector has given these instructions while reviewing departmental schemes and programs in the meeting of the Inter -Divisional Coordination Committee on Monday. In view of the provisions and pollution of the government, old vehicles should not run on the road in Gwalior district. Effective action will be taken on this. The time-limit for the use of private and government vehicles has been determined by the government.
Roads should be completed before rain
The Collector, while reviewing the work of repairing roads before the rain, has directed the construction agencies to get all the roads of their respective departments repaired before the rain. Along with this, get the bridge-culverts repaired and the Shaman Board must be installed. Glosine bandage should also be applied on the shine board so that citizens can be visible even in the dark.
12 lakh 53 thousand vehicles registered in the district
About 12 lakh 53 thousand vehicles are registered in Gwalior district. These include 01 lakh 33 thousand private vehicles more than 20 years old. At the same time, about 13 lakh 50 thousand vehicles in the state are worth scrapping. These include two wheelers, three wheelers and four wheelers. There will be 25% discount in road tax on scrapping private vehicle. At the same time, there will be a road tax exemption up to 15% on commercial vehicles. This exemption will be given only on disposal at the scrap center authorized by the government.
