BCCI fined Rs 24 lakh on silver Patidar and Rs 12 lakh on Pat Cummins

The match was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad. In this match, SRH won by 42 runs and spoiled RCB’s top-2 game. However, after the match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI sentenced the captains of both teams. In this match, RCB was captained by Jitesh Sharma, but BCCI has imposed a fine of Rs 24 lakh on regular captain Rajat Patidar and Rs 12 lakh on Pat Cummins due to RCB’s mistake. Patandira and Cummins have been sentenced to the Slow over rate during the RCB vs SRH match.

This was RCB’s second mistake of this season, due to which the BCCI has wrapped the entire team including Silver Patidar. As per the press release of the IPL, Rajat Patidar, the nominated captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, has been fined by his team for maintaining the slow over rate against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium during the match number 65 of Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Since this was the second crime of his team of the season under the IPL code of conduct related to minimum over-per-rate crimes, the Patidar has been fined Rs 24 lakh. The rest of the members of the playing XI, including the impact player, have been fined personally either 6 lakh rupees or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is low. At the same time, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has also been fined for maintaining a slow over speed by his team. Since this was the first offense of his team under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which is related to minimum over-perpetal offenses, a fine of Rs 12 lakh has been imposed on Cummins.

How was RCB vs SRH match?
After losing the toss, the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s team gave a target of 232 runs to Royal Challengers Bangalore on the basis of Ishaan Kishan’s unbeaten 94 runs. RCB’s score, chasing this score, was 173 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in 15.3 overs at a time, but then the team suddenly collapsed like cards. RCB lost 7 wickets within the next 16 runs and the entire team was reduced to 189. Hyderabad won the match by a margin of 42 runs.
