In a village in Kalapipal in Berasia, capital of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan Police has arrested 23 -year -old Anuradha Paswan while busting an organized marriage cheated gang. It is alleged that Anuradha escaped with cash, jewelry and valuables in the last 7 months. The matter came to light when Vishnu Sharma, a resident of Sawai Madhopur, lodged a complaint on 3 May. He told that two agents, Sunita and Pappu Meena, got married to Anuradha with 2 lakh rupees. After the court marriage on 20 April, Anuradha escaped on May 2 with gold jewelry, ₹ 30,000 cash and a mobile phone. Police said that these gangs were operating from Bhopal, these people were making people their victims in the surrounding states. The investigation of the case is going on, and the police hopes that on the basis of information received from Anuradha, they will also arrest the rest of the members of this gang soon.
After the robbery from Vishnu Sharma, a resident of Sawai Madhopur, the Rajasthan Police started an undercover operation, in which a constable was sent as a fake groom. When the agents shared Anuradha’s picture, the police arrested her from Bhopal. Investigation revealed that Anuradha was part of an organized marriage fraud gang. She would marry with legitimate documents and escaped with jewelry, cash and electronic goods in a few days. Other members of the gang, such as Roshni, Raghubir, Golu, strong Singh Yadav and earnings, are told from Bhopal. They are being searched. Anuradha is a resident of Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh and used to work in a hospital earlier. After a domestic dispute with her husband, she came to Bhopal and joined the gang. The wedding agent used to show pictures of the bride through WhatsApp and take an amount of 2 to 5 lakhs from the groom side in the name of getting married.
Rajasthan Police contacted Anuradha by becoming ‘bogus customers’
Recently, he had married a young man named Gabbar in Bhopal with Rs 2 lakh and also made him a victim of cheating. Rajasthan Police adopted a special strategy to catch this gang. He became a ‘bogus customer’ and contacted Anuradha and implicated him in a trap on the pretext of marriage. As soon as she got ready for marriage and she gave her address, phone number and photo, the police arrested her red handed. Initial investigation by the police has revealed that the entire gang used to operate from Bhopal. This gang used to target men who were worried about marriage or whose financial condition was good.
Fraud of crores of rupees in the name of marriage
According to police sources, Anuradha Paswan is originally from Kolhui Bazar in Maharajganj district of UP. Anuradha and her gang members used to show themselves poor and compelled, so that the victims could easily trust them. Once married, Anuradha used to steal cash and jewelry and escaped. It is believed that this gang has cheated crores of rupees so far. After this case, Bhopal and Rajasthan Police have appealed to the people to gather complete information about the boy or girl and their family before marriage and avoid any kind of fraud.
