This morning has brought a sad news. Famous astronomer Padam Vibhushan Jayant Vishnu Narlikar did not live among us. Today, the sad news of his sleeping death has been received at dawn. Along with his mathematician wife Mangla Narlikar, he had talked about the need to read scientific thinking and astronomy from children from Raipur to Dhamtari to Dhamtari, Kanker Jagdalpur Bastar to Darbha Valley in Darbha Valley. When he had a lecture in Raipur and Bhilai, there was no place to stand up recently and people were listening to their lectures with windows. There was a competition to ask them questions. The honorable members of the Chhattisgarh Vigyan Sabha got their good association in their seven -day visit.
He raised his voice to eradicate superstition from the general public, openly opposed teaching astrology in universities and led the struggles to enact anti -black magic laws in Maharashtra.

Today, an online meeting is being organized by Chhattisgarh Vigyan Sabha to pay tribute to Professor Jayant Narlikar at 7 pm on 20 May 2025, in which former Vice Chancellor and astronomer Professor SK Pandey, famous Texonomist Prof. ML Nayak, Treasurer of All India People’s Science Movement, including Dr. SR Azad, will express their views.
