The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has made an important announcement. RBI will soon issue new notes of Rs 20. The special thing is that these notes will be signed by the new RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra. However, the general public does not need to worry because all the notes of 20 rupees already in circulation will remain in trend as before.
How will the new note be?
The RBI has made it clear that the new 20 rupee notes will be from Mahatma Gandhi (new) series. Their design will also be similar to the current 20 rupee note. There will be only one change – the notes will now be signed by Governor Sanjay Malhotra.
What will happen to old notes?
Many people can worry whether the old 20 rupee notes will be out of circulation? The RBI has clarified the situation on this. The RBI has said that all the notes of 20 rupees issued earlier will be completely valid. This means that you can shop as before old notes and they can be used anywhere.

After taking charge of the new governor, issuing notes with new signatures is a common process. This does not affect the old notes in the market nor does it make any note invalid.
