BMC preparations to remove illegal buildings in Mumbai’s Mud area, bungalows of many celebrities include

BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) has become serious to remove illegal buildings in Mumbai’s Mud area. Now Mithun Chakraborty’s name has also been included in this list. The veteran actor and BJP leader has been sent a show cause notice in Arangal village of Malad due to alleged illegal construction. According to municipal officials, Mithun will now have to explain why construction should not be demolished. If they do not answer this, BMC can drop it and take legal action.

The BMC has identified more than 100 illegal constructions in the Mud area, including some bungalows, which were allegedly made using fake layout plans. Officials say they are planning to remove all such illegal buildings by the end of May.

Mithun Chakraborty issued notice by BMC

BMC has used Section 351 (1A) of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act to issue notice to Mithun Chakraborty, giving them a week from May 10. They have been asked to clarify why the alleged construction should not be removed. If he fails to respond to time, the civil body can take action against the structure. An official said that such violations fall under Section 475A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act. Due to which fine and even jail can be done.

Responding to the notice, Mithun Chakraborty retained his stand and told the Free Press Journal, ‘I have no illegal building, notices have been sent to many people, and we are sending our answers’.
