The High Court ordered an FIR against Madhya Pradesh government minister Kunwar Vijay Shah after a disputed remarks on army officer Colonel Sophia Qureshi. Vijay Shah had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the High Court order, which was to be heard on Friday, but the apex court will now hear it on 19 May. According to the report, Minister Vijay Shah’s lawyer Maninder Singh has sought time from the court to file some additional documents. Due to this, the date of May 19 has been fixed for the next hearing.
Minister Vijay Shah made controversial remarks on Colonel Qureshi. After his comment, he is being criticized across the country. The opposition is also raising the demand to dismiss him from the cabinet.
Colonel Sophia Qureshi was entrusted with the responsibility of regular press briefing along with Air Force Wing Commander Vyika Singh during the ‘Operation Sindoor’ launched by India against the Pahalgam militant attack and he performed it well. He got a discussion in the country due to frequent briefing. The statement made against him shows Vijay Shah’s insensitivity.
Vijay Shah has also apologized for his statement. He released a video saying that Colonel Qureshi is more than his real sister.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav has used caste words about Wing Commander Vyomika Singh. There is anger against him in the whole country. On the other hand, on Friday, Congress MLAs submitted a memorandum to Governor Mangu Bhai Patel demanding the dismissal of Minister Vijay Shah in Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal. After handing over the memorandum, he sat on a dharna on gate number 2 of Raj Bhavan, demanding the dismissal of the minister. The police tried to understand the Congress MLAs and remove it from there, but the Congress MLA did not agree. Amid the uproar, the police took into custody the MLAs who were protesting.
