The Mohan Yadav government, which is preparing to give solar pumps to the farmers in the state, has decided the rules regarding this. The solar pumps given to the farmers will be tagged for the solar plant. This will provide relief from the status of duplicate of grant on solar pumps and electricity connections.

It has also been decided in this scheme that farmers will have to deposit 10 percent margin money for solar plant generating solar energy for solar plant up to 3 horsepower. For this, the Department of New and Renewable Energy has issued a notification. The scheme will remain in force till March 2028.

Cabinet approved in January

In the cabinet meeting held on 24 January 2025, the solar pump installation scheme was approved for irrigation.
The Pradhan Mantri Krishak Mitra Surya Yojana will be effective till March 2028 through the grant payable in the component of Kusum Yojana of the Government of India.
Solar pump connections of five and seven horsepower will be available only to those farmers who do not have permanent electricity connection.
A board will be installed with each solar pump.
It will mention the name and grant of the scheme.

Farmers registered under the Chief Minister Solar Pump Scheme will be able to take advantage of the scheme for fulfilling the conditions.

Farmers with permanent connections will benefit in second step

The benefit of the first phase of the scheme will be given only to farmers who do not have electricity connection. In the second step, solar pumps will also be given to farmers using permanent electrical pumps. In the year 2023-24 and 2024-25 by the power distribution companies, temporary electrical connections and permanent electrical connections will be taken out of their land details using the overall and Aadhaar e-KYC. Based on this, loan will be paid by the state government on the database prepared. Based on this, subsidized farmers will be decided.

Apart from irrigation, electricity can be used in other works

The solar panel produces 330 days and an average of 8 hours energy a year.
The need for pumping for farming is only 150 days.
Alternative use of energy generated from solar energy will be promoted.
The remaining energy can be used in the works of Chaff cutter, flour mill, cold storage, dryer, battery charger etc.
The Department of Farmers Welfare, Horticulture and Food Processing will work on priority to install drip or sprinkler systems with solar pumps.

Committee will be formed at state and district level

A committee will be formed at the state and district level for the implementation of the scheme. The committee will work under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary at the state level. It will be the Secretary of the Secretary of New and Renewable Energy Department. Energy, Finance, Urban Development and Housing, Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Department, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Department of Revenue, Department of Revenue, Science and Technology will be as members members.

The chairman of the district level committee will be the collector. District Panchayat CEO, Deputy Director Agriculture, Manager District Cooperative Bank, Assistant Director Horticulture, General Manager or Superintending Engineer Electricity Distribution Company, District Renewable Energy Officer Energy Officer Energy Development Corporation will be included.

Such grant will be given in the scheme

Under the Kusum scheme of the Government of India, 30 percent grant will be given on solar pumps up to 3 horsepower.
The farmer will have to pay 5 percent margin money and 65 percent of the amount will come from the farmer loan.
The Government of India will get 30 percent grant on pumps with more than 3 horse power.
More than 60 percent of the amount will be in the form of farmer loans.
The farmer will have to pay 10 percent amount in the form of margin money.
In the Kusum B scheme, the amount of part of the center on a pump of more than 7.5 horsepower will remain till the grant given on 7.5 HP pump.
