Proposal sent to the Central Government to host the National Games of 2028: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the government is trying to bring the state forward in the field of sports. We will leave no stone unturned in the development of sports and players. Expressing happiness, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that a proposal has been sent to the Central Government and the Indian Olympic Association to organize National Games in Madhya Pradesh. The National Games is proposed in the year 2028 during January to March. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed the officials of the Sports Department to carry out all the preparations for the national sports event in time. National sports in Madhya Pradesh is a matter of pride for the government. There is no shortage in its preparations. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang was also present in the meeting.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that water tourism is being encouraged in the state. All the necessary facilities and arrangements should be made to provide natural and real pleasure of water sports in small and big ponds to Bhopal. He said that the Asian Roing Championship is to be held in the state from 14 to 19 October 2025. The event will be held at the Water Sports Training Center in Khanugaon, Bhopal. In this, about 450 players from more than 22 countries, 100 technical officials and 12 jury members will come to Bhopal, including a large number of water sports. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed the departmental officials to make the venue Khanugaon Water Sports Training Center for the Asian Roing Championship to be made well -equipped according to international parameters. With this, Bhopal city will also become a strong contender for organizing water sports in Olympic-2036 in the country along with the branding of Bhopal pond. Besides, water sports, Madhya Pradesh tourism and local trade will also be encouraged in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that start all preparations for the Asian Roing Championship to be held from October 14 to 19. Beautification of the site and tactics etc. should be completed as soon as possible. He said that its demo should be demonstrated in other countries to promote Malkumbha. The Khelo MP Games should also include traditional games like tug of war, archery- Indian Style, Shooting Ball and Pitu.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the officials of Sports Department should coordinate with the officials of School Education, Higher Education, Technical Education, Tribal Affairs Department and enhance various sports talents in the state. He said that make sports a part of the school/college’s curriculum. For this, efforts should be made to create a separate sports faculty at the college level. He said that training programs should be organized in Omkareshwar and Pachmarhi to promote adventure sports activities. Like the large and small ponds of Bhopal, water sights should be selected for other water sports activities. This will also benefit water tourism and talented players of this region.

It was informed in the meeting that the Partha Yojana (Police-Army Recruitment Training House) has been started by the Sports Department to provide physical and written examination training to the youth of the state. MP Youth Portal and Madhya Pradesh Youth Motivational Scheme is also being run. There is also a plan to appoint government posts to medal winning players in Vikram Awardi and other international and national events. On this, the Chief Minister directed to study the provisions in this regard in other states of the country.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that focus on the development of sports like Malkhambha and Gymnastics and efforts should also be made to establish separate international level academy as per the development of these sports. He said that efforts should also be made to start Sports University in the state. In this regard, it was informed that action is being taken to start the certificate course of Sports Coaching and Allied subjects in Bhopal. Proposals are being invited from private investors for Sports University.

Sports tourism is getting encouragement through sports
It was informed in the meeting that the International Sports Complex is being constructed in 2 phases from Rs 985.76 crore in Nathu-Barkheda, Bhopal to encourage sports tourism in the state and make the state a sports hub. In the first phase, international level athletic, football and hockey stadiums are being prepared. In the second phase, the multipurpose indoor complex, all Weather swimming pool, cross -transcript race track and other outdoor fields will be constructed. The establishment of an international level Sports Science Center is also proposed in this Sports Complex. In the third phase of the project, the international level cricket stadium will also be constructed in this Sports Complex itself.
