Big stir in Pak cricket, Shoaib Malik resigns from the post of mentor of Pak cricket

A big news related to Pakistan cricket has come out. Former Pakistan Shoaib Malik has left the post of mentor. Five players including Shoaib were appointed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for domestic competitions. The five players signed a contract of 3-3 years, but Shoaib left the post after about a year. Shoaib Malik has told that he submitted his resignation to the board two weeks ago. Malik said that he will fulfill the rest of his contract related obligations, but will not be mentor for the next session.

The remaining four mentors were also discharged?

Shoaib Malik resigned at a time when speculation is being made about the future of the remaining four mentors. Apart from Shoaib, apart from Shoaib, Misbah ul Haq, Sakalain Mushtaq, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Waqar Yunus were also made a mentor by PCB. Here Shoaib made his resignation public, while Pakistani media reports stated that the PCB has decided to remove all five mentors as they want to reduce the domestic season, which is quite busy last year. According to the PCB spokesperson, Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has not officially explained his decision.

These five were appointed in August last year. However, the appointment of these mentors was controversial. These mentors are said to have been contracted at a salary of about Rs 15 lakh ($ 18,000) per month. This shocked the people as their salary is more than the rest of the Pakistani cricketers except Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan. Apart from this, these questions also arose as to what these five will really do. Initially, these five were appointed mentors of teams participating in the Champions Cup. Since each team had a separate coaching setup, mentors did not require coaching qualification.

Shoaib Malik said on his decision, ‘This was not an easy option, but after considering my commitments, I realized that I would be unable to give my best for taking up many responsibilities together. I believe this is the right time to change. Working with some of Pakistan’s most talented cricketers has been a very beneficial experience, which I will always cherish. ,

Shoaib Malik announced his retirement from Test cricket in 2015. Then after the 2019 World Cup, he said goodbye to ODI cricket. However Shoaib is still active in T20 format. 43 -year -old Shoaib Pakistan Super League (PSL) is part of the Quetta Gladiators team in the current season.
