Turkey supported Pakistan in the India-Pakistan battle. According to media reports, Turkey helped Pakistan even give drones to drones. The people of India have not liked this attitude of Türkiye. Therefore, India has now started giving a befitting reply to Turkey standing with Pakistan on the economic front. Indian traders have announced a ‘trade strike’ against Turkis. The traders of Pune have completely stopped buying apples from Turkey. They are getting apples from Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Iran and other areas of their country. At the same time, marble businessmen in Udaipur have also announced to stop trade from Turkey.
Traders in Pune, Maharashtra have completely discontinued the sale of apples imported from Türkiye. These apples have disappeared from local markets and customers have also boycotted it.
Every year, Turkish apples have a share of about ₹ 1,000 to ₹ 1,200 crore in the Pune fruit market, but now this business has come to a standstill. Apple merchant Sayyog Jende in Pune’s APMC (Agricultural generation Market Committee) Market said that we have completely stopped getting apple from Türkiye. Now we are asking for apples from Himachal, Uttarakhand, Iran and other sources. The demand for Turkish apples has declined by about 50%.
Traders of Daypur stopped importing marble from Türkiye
Recognized as Asia’s largest marble trade center, traders from Udaipur have decided to stop importing marble from Turki (Türkiye). Kapil Surana, chairman of the Udaipur Marble Processors Committee, said that all the members of the committee unanimously decided that as long as the Turkas continue to support Pakistan, it would not be traded. He said that about 70% of the total marble imported into India comes from the Turki, but now this import is being stopped.
Travel agencies stopped booking Türkiye and Ajabjan
Tourism has a big role in the economy of countries like Türkiye and Azerbaijan. Both of these two come from tourism only from tourism. Talking about Azerbaijan, 70% of tourists go from India here. After Indo-Pak tension, the people of India teased Boycott Türkiye and Azerbaijan Campen, which started showing the effect. Travel Booking Platforms such as ixigo and Easemytrip are not booking for Turkey.
Indians run Boycott Türkiye and Azbaijan Campaign
The people of India have started boycotting Turkey. Now people have started going to Bangkok instead of Azerbaijan. People from different parts across the country have set their plan to go to these countries. 15000 tourists from Purvanchal alone canceled the plan of these two countries. According to the All India Tourist Federation, more than 15000 tourists from Purvanchal have canceled their plan and tickets in days. Last year, 37500 people traveled to these two countries. Right now, this figure is expected that this number can go between 25 thousand to 30 thousand. Travel companies are also supporting people in this. Travel companies like Cox and King, SOTC and Is My Trip and many airlines, including Air India, are not even taking any cancellation charge from the people.
2.50 lakh tourists
According to Infoindia data, in 2024, about 2.50 lakh tourists from India traveled to Azerbaijan. Talking about Türkiye, about 3 lakh tourists went to Turkey from India. During the journey, every passenger spent an average of about 1000 US dollars i.e. 85,000 rupees. In this way, countries supporting Pakistan earned an income of about Rs 469 crore last year.
